C Future City, Shenzhen, China

Wang Kaifang’s sculpture Futuristic Wind is located in Shenzhen’s C Future City, situated in the main area of Chegongmiao, Futian District, Shenzhen, adjacent to the Airport Expressway. The sculpture was completed in 2023 and is entirely handcrafted and polished from stainless steel, measuring 15 meters in length, 8 meters in height, and 5 meters in width.

Wind represents the rhythm of life and the breath of the seasons. Every square meter of wind carries the weight of every moment, presenting different postures and emotions from various angles and moments. The “wind” in the air and the “water” on the ground combine to form a harmonious uplifting force, creating a set of mutually complementing urban landscapes.

Wang Kaifang’s Futuristic Wind is a contemporary art piece that embodies a Chinese-style futuristic aesthetic. It simulates the formation of natural wind in a wind experiment, utilizing 3D printing and traditional hand forging techniques. It showcases the concept of a “harmonious world where people coexist harmoniously with each other and with nature.”

The sculpture leaps across the sky under the sun and rain, bearing the beautiful expectations for the future, refreshing the heart with a gentle breeze, piercing through the brightness, and casting its reflection on the world.
